What we can and can’t help with

We can look into calculation or content errors, and take feature and city requests. We do not provide personal astrological consultations, medical, legal or financial advice. See our Editorial Policy for how corrections are handled.

Before you report a wrong date or time

Two almanacs can differ without either being “wrong”. The ayanamsa (the offset between the tropical and sidereal zodiacs), the definition of sunrise (upper edge or centre of the Sun, with or without atmospheric refraction) and the exact coordinates used for a city all shift results slightly, and several traditions also disagree on how a tithi is assigned to a civil day. Differences of a few minutes in a boundary time are common for those reasons; a difference of a whole day, or a different tithi or nakshatra name, is worth reporting.

When you write in, name the other source you compared with and the date and city. That lets us tell a genuine bug from a difference in convention. Our own choices are described on the Editorial Policy page, and the FAQ answers common questions about how the panchang is read.
