Privacy Policy

JyotishDada ("we", "us", "the site") publishes daily Hindu panchang, muhurat timings, festival dates, and Jyotish (Vedic astrology) calculators. This policy explains what information the site collects when you visit, how it’s used, and the choices you have. We’ve written it in plain language rather than dense legal boilerplate — if anything is unclear, use the contact details at the bottom of this page.

JyotishDada does not require you to sign up or log in, and we do not maintain user accounts. When you use a calculator on this site — for example the Kundali, Baby Name Finder, or Horoscope Match tools — the birth details you enter (date, time, place) are sent to our server only to compute the result for that one request. We do not save those details in a database, and we do not build a stored profile tied to you across visits. Once your browser tab is closed, that input is gone unless you’ve bookmarked or shared the specific result page.

Because nothing is stored server-side against an account, there is no "my saved charts" feature yet, and there is no way for us to look up a birth chart you entered previously — we simply don’t have it.

Like almost every website, our hosting and analytics providers automatically log some technical information on every visit — things like your approximate location (usually only accurate to the city or region, derived from your IP address), browser type, device type, the page you visited, and how you got there (e.g. a search engine or a direct link). We use this in aggregate to understand which pages are useful, fix broken pages, and improve load times. It is not used to identify you personally.

We use your approximate location (city-level, from your IP address) to pre-select a default city on the homepage and panchang pages, purely as a convenience so you don’t have to search for your city every time. You can always change the selected city yourself; nothing about this is stored beyond the current page load.

If you use the form on our Contact page, we receive the name and email address you type, the topic you choose, your message, the page or city you mention (if any), and your browser’s user-agent string (so display problems can be reproduced). This is sent to us as an email. We use it only to reply to you and to look into what you reported; we do not add you to a mailing list or use it for advertising.

The message is not saved in a database on this site. It is delivered by a transactional-email service (Resend) to our mailbox, so that service and our email host process it on our behalf while it is in transit and stored. We keep correspondence for as long as it is needed to answer you and to keep a record of corrections made; write to us if you would like a message deleted. To limit abuse, the server briefly counts recent submissions per network address in memory; those counts are not stored permanently.

JyotishDada itself does not set any cookies of its own to track you. The cookies you may encounter on this site come from third-party services we use:

• Google Analytics — helps us understand aggregate traffic patterns (which pages are popular, how people navigate the site). Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish unique visitors and sessions.
• Google AdSense — once ads are enabled on this site, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies to serve ads that are more relevant to you and to measure ad performance. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings or aboutads.info/choices.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Blocking cookies won’t stop the panchang, muhurat, or Jyotish calculators from working — they don’t depend on cookies — but it may affect how ads are personalized and how accurately we can measure aggregate traffic.

This site relies on a small number of third-party services to operate:

• Hosting/CDN — serves the website itself.
• Google Analytics — aggregate traffic analytics, see above.
• Google AdSense — advertising, once enabled, see above.

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data; we encourage you to review Google’s Privacy Policy for details on Analytics and AdSense specifically.

JyotishDada is a general-audience reference site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

Because we don’t maintain accounts or a stored personal profile, the only personal data of yours we may hold is a message you chose to send through the Contact form (write to us and we will delete it on request), plus whatever third-party analytics/ad providers hold on their own systems — for those, use the opt-out links above or the provider’s own data-request tools. If you are located in the European Economic Area, UK, or a jurisdiction with similar data-protection laws (such as GDPR) and have questions about how our third-party providers process data collected on this site, please reach out using the contact details below and we’ll do our best to help or point you to the right provider.

We may update this policy from time to time — for example, when we add a new analytics or advertising provider. We’ll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
