Every day's Panchang above is built from five elements — Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga, Karana and Var (weekday) — calculated for Delhi's own sunrise, not a generic national time. In the Hindu calendar a day runs sunrise-to-sunrise, so a tithi or nakshatra that's active at today's sunrise is the one shown as "today's", even though it may change to the next one before the day is over — that's the transition time you see in the "Today's Cycle" strip on the Dainik Panchang page.
The Good & Inauspicious Days list just above classifies every day of October 2026 by which of five classical tithi groups it falls into. This is a standard rule from traditional Panchanga texts, based only on the tithi number within its fortnight — not a festival-specific or personal calculation:
| Group | Tithis | General nature |
|---|---|---|
| Nanda | 1st, 6th, 11th (Pratipada, Shashthi, Ekadashi) | joyous beginnings, celebration, fasting and worship |
| Bhadra | 2nd, 7th, 12th (Dwitiya, Saptami, Dwadashi) | gentle, auspicious — favourable for most everyday work |
| Jaya | 3rd, 8th, 13th (Tritiya, Ashtami, Trayodashi) | favourable for effort, competition and overcoming obstacles |
| Rikta | 4th, 9th, 14th (Chaturthi, Navami, Chaturdashi) | traditionally avoided for starting new ventures |
| Purna | 5th, 10th, 15th/30th (Panchami, Dashami, Purnima/Amavasya) | highly auspicious and complete — except Amavasya, kept for ancestor rites rather than new beginnings |

The Good & Inauspicious Days list is based purely on that day's Tithi (lunar day), not the Gregorian date. Since a lunar month doesn't line up with a calendar month, the same calendar date can fall on a different tithi — and therefore a different auspiciousness — every month.
Rikta ('empty') is one of five classical tithi groups (Nanda, Bhadra, Jaya, Rikta, Purna). The 4th, 9th and 14th tithi of each fortnight (Chaturthi, Navami, Chaturdashi) fall in this group and are traditionally avoided for starting new ventures — see the table above.
