Radha Kunda Snan on Sunday, November 1, 2026
Kartik, Krishna Paksha, Ashtami
Begins: 02:52 PM, Nov 01 · Ends: 01:11 PM, Nov 02
Duration: 1 night
4 days
Radha Kunda Snan is the ritual bath taken at Radha Kund, the sacred pond near Govardhan in the Mathura region, at midnight on the night of Kartik Krishna Ashtami, the tithi on which Ahoi Ashtami is kept. Devotees, and in popular belief couples hoping for a child, take the dip at that hour.
Because the bath is taken at midnight, the date follows the Ashtami tithi at the middle of the night, not at sunrise or sunset. That means it usually, but not always, falls on the same civil day as Ahoi Ashtami. In 2026 both are on 1 November.
Radha Kund, near Govardhan in the Mathura region, is regarded in Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition as one of the most sacred waters, associated with Radha. A dip on the midnight of Ahoi Ashtami is traditionally said to bless couples who are hoping for a child, which links this bath to the same Ashtami on which mothers keep the Ahoi fast.
Mathura-Vrindavan-Govardhan
The only place where the bath itself is traditionally taken; crowds gather late at night, so local arrangements matter more than the calendar date.
Date reading
Follows the Ashtami tithi at midnight, not at sunrise or sunset, so it can fall one day before Ahoi Ashtami in some years.
Radha Kunda Snan 2026 mein Sunday, 1 November ko hai (New Delhi ke panchang ke anusaar). Tithi: Kartik, Krishna Paksha, Ashtami. Yeh tithi 02:52 PM, Nov 01 se 01:11 PM, Nov 02 tak rehti hai. Apne shehar ke hisaab se samay thoda alag ho sakta hai.
Most Hindu festivals are set by the lunar Hindu calendar (a specific Tithi within a specific lunar month), not the solar Gregorian calendar used internationally. Since a lunar year runs roughly 11 days shorter than a solar year, the same Tithi lands on a different Gregorian date each year — this is normal and expected, not an error.
