Why is it called Purva Phalguni?
"Purva" (former/earlier) marks it as the first of a linked pair with Uttara Phalguni. Its deity Bhaga, god of fortune, delight, and marital happiness, reinforces its association with romance, enjoyment, and good luck in relationships.
