Frequently Asked Questions

How is Mulank (Birth Number) calculated?

Add the digits of just your birth DAY (not the full date) until you get a single digit. Example: born on the 23rd → 2+3 = 5, so Mulank is 5.

How is Bhagyank (Destiny Number) calculated?

Add every digit of your complete date of birth (day + month + year) and keep reducing until you get a single digit. Example: 23-08-1990 → 2+3+0+8+1+9+9+0 = 32 → 3+2 = 5.

Why does this site use Chaldean numerology for the Name Number, not Pythagorean?

Chaldean numerology is the older, sound-based letter-value system traditionally paired with Vedic (Ank Jyotish) numerology — it assigns letters values 1 through 8 based on vibration rather than alphabetical order, and deliberately never assigns any letter the value 9 (9 is treated as sacred/complete on its own). Pythagorean numerology, more common in Western apps, assigns letters sequentially (A=1, B=2, C=3...) instead. The two systems can give the same name a different Name Number — neither is "wrong," they're different traditions.
