Karka Lagna — Chara

What is the Lagna Table?

The Lagna (ascendant) is the zodiac sign rising on the eastern horizon at any given moment, and it changes throughout the day as the earth rotates — each window's exact length varies (oblique ascension), unlike a fixed ~2-hour block. Muhurat selection often checks the Lagna alongside Tithi, Nakshatra, and Choghadiya — Sthira (fixed) Lagnas are preferred for events meant to be permanent, like marriage or Griha Pravesh, while Chara (movable) Lagnas suit travel and short undertakings.
