Aaj Ka Hora
06:24 AM to 07:21 AM · Tuesday (Mangalavara)
New Delhi, India
A Hora divides the time from sunrise to sunrise into 24 unequal parts (12 by day, 12 by night), each ruled by one of the seven classical planets in a fixed sequence starting from the lord of the weekday. Each Hora carries the nature of its ruling planet — Jupiter and Venus horas are considered most auspicious, while Saturn and Mars horas are best avoided for important beginnings.
| Hora | What it's best suited for |
|---|---|
| Sun Hora | Neutral — good for meeting officials, authority, government work. Avoid new ventures. |
| Moon Hora | Good — favourable for travel, public dealings, emotional and family matters. |
| Mars Hora | Bad — energetic but aggressive; avoid new starts, good only for sports or surgery. |
| Mercury Hora | Good — best for study, trade, communication, business, and signing documents. |
| Jupiter Hora | Best — most auspicious hora; ideal for education, marriage talks, and worship. |
| Venus Hora | Good — favourable for art, luxury, marriage, relationships, and beauty-related work. |
| Saturn Hora | Bad — slow and obstructive; avoid starting anything important. |
It does follow a fixed planetary order, but skips 2 planets ahead each hour rather than repeating the same 7 in sequence — this comes from the classical rule that ties Hora to the day's ruling weekday planet (the 1st daytime Hora of any day always matches that day's own planetary ruler, e.g. Sunday starts with Sun Hora, Monday with Moon Hora), and the specific skip-pattern is what makes that line up correctly across all 7 weekdays.
Jupiter and Venus Horas are generally considered the most favourable — good for education, marriage discussions, worship, art, and relationships. Mars and Saturn Horas are best avoided for starting anything important; Sun Hora is more situational (fine for official/government matters, weak for new ventures).
