Rahu–Ketu Transit 2026: Rahu in Capricorn, Ketu in Cancer
On 5 December 2026 (Saturday) Rahu enters Makara (Capricorn) and Ketu enters Karka (Cancer), ending the Kumbha–Simha (Aquarius–Leo) axis that began on 18 May 2025. The new axis lasts until 24 June 2028, about 19 months. Dates come from this site's Swiss Ephemeris engine (Lahiri, mean node).

Rahu: Kumbha → Makara
Rahu moves into Saturn's sign of Capricorn. Rahu is traditionally linked to ambition, foreign and unconventional routes and the appetite for worldly success, and Capricorn is the sign of career, structure and status.
Ketu: Simha → Karka
Ketu moves into the Moon's sign of Cancer. Ketu is traditionally linked to detachment, past patterns and spiritual search, and Cancer is the sign of home, mother, emotions and belonging.

Why do Rahu and Ketu always move backward?
Rahu and Ketu are the two points where the Moon's orbit crosses the Sun's path. These points slowly shift backward through the zodiac, so on average they move in reverse through the signs, taking about 18 months for each. They are not physical planets, which is why they are called shadow planets (chhaya graha).
